Digital public services, reimagined through design.
How we transformed the way Mumbai books its swimming facilities - one platform across UI/UX, a citizen mobile app, and the integrations that hold it together.

Mumbai has Olympic-standard public pools. Most citizens had no idea they existed.
The BMC built world-class facilities in Dadar, Chembur, Kandivali and Dahisar. But getting a membership felt like chasing a mirage - long queues, opaque processes, physical forms, and zero clarity. People wanted access; the process made them walk away.
We set out to build a platform so simple a five-year-old first-time swimmer or a ninety-five-year-old water lover could use it - trustworthy, transparent, and ridiculously easy. Because great public infrastructure means nothing if it isn't accessible.
Three things stood between citizens and the water.
No clear way to know how or when to register. Long queues, unclear instructions and manual forms bred hesitation and distrust before a citizen ever reached the water.
We didn't build a booking portal. We rebuilt trust in a public service.
We approached it with a civic-tech mindset: how do we make a government service feel accessible and transparent without overwhelming the system behind it? Every decision, from UI to backend, came down to two principles.

Explore the work, discipline by discipline.
A clean, distraction-free interface that guides everyone.
From a five-year-old swimmer to a ninety-five-year-old enthusiast - large touch targets, clear instructions and a gentle visual tone walk users through each step effortlessly, with live seat availability before they ever commit.

From a queue at the gate to a tap on the phone.
Drag the handle to compare the old walk-in reality with the digital experience we shipped.
Every screen, end to end.
A rolling montage of the booking site, the citizen app and the admin console. Hover to pause.
Impact you can measure on day one.
The real review is at the pool gate.
“No more lines, no paperwork. I booked my membership in minutes.”
