The Pareto Principle is named after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who observed in 1896 that 80% of Italy’s land was owned by 20% of the population. The principle was later generalized by business thinkers and applied across various domains, including UX design, where it is used to identify and prioritize the most impactful features or content.
